NYSERDA, a driving force in New York's transition to a clean energy-powered economy, is seeking a motivated, dynamic, and resourceful attorney to provide legal support for its administration of the Clean Energy Standard (CES) and/or the new Bulk Energy Storage (BES) Program. This is a Regular Full-Time Professional position based in New York City, with a salary range of $123,793.00 to $173,664.00 annually.

Job Overview
As a Senior Counsel or Senior Counsel II, you will play a critical role in helping NYSERDA achieve its ambitious clean energy goals. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with the development, planning, and execution of the CES and/or BES programs, drafting and coordinating contracts and regulatory filings, analyzing legal and regulatory issues, and managing outside counsel. You will also be responsible for driving projects forward by effectively communicating and organizing information, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have a Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the bar of New York State. For the Senior Counsel position, you must have at least 6 years of experience as legal counsel, and for the Senior Counsel II position, you must have at least 8 years of experience. You must also have a demonstrated interest in legal matters relating to energy/infrastructure and economic development.
Additional qualifications that are preferred include experience and expertise in energy and infrastructure project development and finance, permitting and regulatory matters, commercial contracts, and government contracting. You should also possess strong communication skills, resourcefulness, pragmatism, diplomacy, discretion, and a dedicated work ethic with resolute integrity.
