Overview: - CLF is seeking law students for the spring 2024/2025 term to work on cutting edge legal strategies and policy solutions. - Interns will be paired with an experienced attorney in one of seven program areas, focusing on clean energy and climate change, clean air and water, ocean conservation, strategic litigation, zero waste, community resilience, or transportation and environmental justice. - Opportunity to work with state and federal agencies, as well as other environmental organizations and communities in New England. - Part-time and full-time internships available, with a minimum commitment of 2 full days per week for at least 9 weeks for part-time and 35 hours per week for at least 9 weeks for full-time. - Rolling acceptance of applications, with a deadline of one month before the prospective start date. - Applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible, as hiring decisions are made on a rolling basis.
Responsibilities: - Conduct legal research and draft documents, including internal strategy memos, public comments, and portions of motions and briefs. - Meet with state and federal agency officials and work with other environmental organizations, local activist groups, and environmental justice communities in New England. - Support CLF's mission to advocate for environmental progress and economic prosperity for all in New England, with a focus on communities of color and those that are economically or otherwise disadvantaged.
Requirements: - Cover letter, resume, and contact information for 1 reference. - Law school transcripts (unofficial transcripts accepted). - Writing sample demonstrating legal analysis (at least 5 pages). - Must state which term you are applying for (fall, winter, or spring), whether you are seeking a full-time or part-time internship, and the CLF office(s) you are applying to. - Only online applications will be accepted.
