Summary:
White & Case, an elite global law firm, is seeking a Media Relations Specialist to join their Americas media relations team in New York. This hybrid role will support the team in executing media relations strategies and managing best practices and processes. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 4 years of experience in public relations or communications, as well as a strong understanding of news consumption.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Americas media relations team to develop and implement media relations strategies Pitch story ideas and craft messages for press releases, pitches, and backgrounders Create and maintain media lists Coordinate with Business Development teams to align media relations with marketing and business goals Monitor media coverage and produce reports Cultivate relationships with key reporters Place partner-authored articles in legal and trade publications Work with marketing communications team to identify thought leadership pieces for media opportunities Evaluate media opportunities for conflicts and obtain necessary clearances Manage special projects and assist with the media section of the Firm's website and intranet page
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree Minimum 4 years of experience in public relations or communications at a law firm or professional services company Strong news consumption habits Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to work independently and adapt to changing demands Detail-oriented and deadline-driven Curiosity and willingness to learn about relevant issues and trends Proficiency in media relations databases and Microsoft Office

This is a hybrid role based in New York, reporting to the Associate Director, Media Relations - Americas.

Salary Information:
The salary range for this role in the New York market is $88,800 - $133,200 USD yearly. Salary ranges may vary in other markets based on cost of living and local labor markets.
