Law Firm Seeks Sexual Assault Legal Advocate in Denver, CO Part-Time Position, $20-$23/hour Join a dedicated team of professionals making a positive difference for victims of personal injuries, sexual abuse and sexual assault at Bachus & Schanker. Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial intake interviews with potential clients over the phone or in-person - Gather detailed information about the incident, injuries, and any other relevant facts - Provide compassionate and empathetic support to callers - Accurately document and input information into case management system - Coordinate with attorneys and legal staff for seamless client information transfer - Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with care - Follow up with potential clients as needed to complete evaluation process - Assist with scheduling consultations and meetings for attorneys - Provide culturally competent legal advocacy for survivors of sexual assault - Assist attorneys in representing sexual assault survivors in various cases - Participate in weekly meetings regarding assigned cases - Follow up with active case clients at least twice a month - Accompany victims to medical appointments, investigator interviews, or court proceedings when appropriate and requested - Provide ongoing support to sexual assault victims throughout the case process
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a human-services or law-related field - Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with organizations and individuals - Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with diverse backgrounds - Empathy and sensitivity towards victims - Strong interpersonal skills - Ability to build trust and supportive relationships - Efficient time management skills - Adherence to strict confidentiality - Analytical ability to intervene in crisis situations - Project management skills for crisis intervention and situational assessment - Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred - Experience serving diverse populations in a trauma-informed environment - Ability to track referrals and services provided by external legal partners
