Job Description
Providing reservoir engineering support and technical advice including reservoir characterisation, agreed technical programmes and opportunity evaluation. Taking a lead role in many of these activities and projects including supervising and coordinating the activities of other team members. Monitoring production and injection performance on existing fields to optimise production and maximise recovery. Performing well test analyses. Performing reservoir simulation studies, including generation of production forecasts. Reserves reporting. Economic analyses. Technical input to appraisal and field development programmes. Providing planning and operational support for well drilling and testing activities. Assessing subsurface opportunities for risk. Project management of outsourced reservoir engineering studies. Reservoir engineering input into new business opportunity evaluations. Preparing and presenting material internally and to regulators and joint venture partners. Following safety and environmental policies, guidelines and procedures. Qualifications Required: Strong understanding of fluid dynamic behavior. Understanding of reservoir drive mechanisms. User of dynamic modelling packages, preferably Petrel-RE, Eclipse, or PETEX suite. Exposure to drilling and well operations. Good awareness of legislation, licensing and fiscal issues relevant to the oil and gas industry. Good commercial awareness with an understanding of project financing and cost control. Proven ability to undertake complex tasks requiring the application of well-developed technical skills and knowledge with limited supervision. Proven leadership-builder with the ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams. Self-starter, highly motivated and well organised. Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills. Educated to degree level, ideally with an MSc in a relevant discipline. Broad subsurface knowledge of the NCS ideally with previous experience of development and production assets within the NCS. Experience of working in an E&P operator and as part of joint venture groups. Experience of working within a challenging and diverse asset management environment. Exposure to drilling and well operations There are no regulatory requirements the role-holder must satisfy.
