Responsibilities
- Develop and execute external affairs, community relations, and/or corporate social responsibility strategies in a corporate environment. - Manage and execute a community engagement program in San Francisco in support of the communities where Amazon works. - Support and drive engagement with local community stakeholders, businesses, non-profits organizations, neighborhood groups, educational institutions, civic and trade associations, and other stakeholders. - Deliver community engagement results through events, projects, initiatives, and panels. - Build and maintain high-profile relationships with community partners and civic leaders. - Define and move business and community initiatives from concept to completion. - Measure success using traditional and non-traditional metrics. - Operate in areas of ambiguity and define strategic engagement and deliver results. - Adhere to high standards and maintain strong attention to detail. - Travel domestically as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required. - At least 12 years of relevant experience in public policy, government relations, community relations, public affairs, corporate social responsibility, or equivalent experience. - Ability and desire to travel is required. - Juris Doctorate, Master’s Degree, or other Advanced Degree preferred. - Highly effective oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills; demonstrated ability to effectively and comfortably interact at the highest corporate, political, and community levels for a diverse variety of audiences. - Ability to influence, negotiate with, and persuade others. - Must be flexible and demonstrate strong judgment/decision-making skills and political acumen. - Demonstrated ability to manage high-profile relationships with community partners and civic leaders. - Ability to maintain the highest personal levels of ethical conduct, confidentiality, and integrity.
