Position Overview
As a Senior Litigation Associate in our business litigation department, you will work on a variety of cases, both plaintiff and defense, and will have the opportunity to hone your skills in discovery, depositions, and motion practice. This role requires a minimum of six years of experience in business litigation, with a strong understanding of commercial law and the ability to work independently as lead counsel or collaboratively within a team. While trial experience is preferred, it is not mandatory. This position offers opportunities for career advancement to a partner or principal position within the firm, based on performance and alignment with firm goals.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of complex commercial litigation matters. Conduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, and briefs. Participate in discovery, including depositions and document review. Communicate with clients and opposing counsel. Represent clients in court hearings and trials. Work collaboratively with other attorneys and support staff.
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school. Missouri License required. Minimum of six years of experience in business litigation. Strong understanding of commercial law and legal procedures. Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Trial experience preferred but not mandatory. Business development skills and client originations are a plus.
