Job Summary:
- Revolutionized the ski industry in 2008 by launching the Epic Pass - Recognized as one of the Most Innovative Companies of 2024 by Fast Company - Seeking a Senior Marketing & IT Counsel to provide strategic legal advice and leadership to the Vail Resorts Marketing and IT functions - High-impact, high-visibility role reporting to the VP & Associate General Counsel - Advise executive leadership on strategic growth priorities
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as the lead attorney supporting the Company’s Marketing and IT functions - Counsel cross-functional teams on data privacy, information security, consumer protection, intellectual property, regulatory, and other legal considerations - Stay current on state, federal, and global data privacy and cybersecurity laws and support related compliance programs and policies - Lead investigations of information security and cybersecurity incidents - Review marketing materials and advise on updates to terms and conditions, promotions, sweepstakes, contests, and other marketing efforts - Advise on updates to contract templates, playbooks, and policies for technology and marketing-related agreements - Prepare and present legal trainings to various stakeholders - Provide strategic legal thinking and insight on Vail Resorts’ growth priorities - Contribute to the leadership of the legal department
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and JD required - Active state bar license - Minimum of 8 years of experience as a practicing attorney with a focus on global privacy laws - Agile and flexible thinker - Clear and concise communicator - Demonstrated ability to be proactive and a team player - Exceptional organizational and time management skills - Commitment to personal leadership growth and development
Preferred Skills:
- CIPP certification - Experience with cybersecurity, marketing and advertising law, or intellectual property - Experience leading complex cross-functional issues
Total Compensation: $175,000 - $205,000 annual bonus equity. Individual compensation decisions based on factors.
