Overview:
Citi is a global financial institution with a strong legal team that supports its business lines, legal entities, compliance, and regulatory engagement teams. The Regulatory Advisory and Transformation legal group is responsible for providing technical legal advice on banking and financial services regulatory changes that impact Citi. They are currently seeking a Senior Lawyer with experience in derivatives and broker-dealer regulations to join their team and provide legal coverage for major regulatory, transformational, and business change projects.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as subject matter expert on Dodd-Frank requirements for swap dealers and security based swap dealers, with potential to expand to other large scale regulatory and business change projects. - Provide regular updates on regulatory developments and business change projects to Citi Legal and key internal stakeholders. - Lead Legal's interaction with external counsel and manage legal advice for implementation of regulatory matters. - Provide legal input for Citi's responses to industry consultations and regulators, and participate in industry association calls on behalf of Citi. - Act as liaison and coordinator between Legal and Citi project management and implementation teams for regulatory and business change projects. - Stay informed on regulatory and legal environment, internal policies, and industry trends that impact Citi's businesses.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of relevant industry experience, preferably in financial services. - Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements for swap dealers and security based swap dealers. - Strong knowledge of derivatives products and associated legal documentation. - Transactional experience, including cross-border experience, is preferred. - Knowledge of broker-dealer regulatory requirements is desirable. - Experience in a major bank is preferred. - Experience in large scale financial regulatory projects is preferred. - Strong project management and organizational skills. - Strong communication skills, with ability to manage stakeholders at senior levels. - Self-driven with ability to manage and deliver projects in a fast-paced environment.
Education:
- J.D. obtained in the United States. - Attorney admitted to practice in the State of New York.
