Citi is looking for a Senior Lead Counsel 1 to join their Technology Transactions team within the global IP and Operations & Technology law group. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work remotely for the majority of the time, with 2 days required in the Tampa, Florida office. The Senior Lead Counsel 1 will be responsible for providing legal counsel and thought leadership on all matters related to Technology Transactions, collaborating with legal and business peers globally, and negotiating and drafting a range of general commercial contracts.
Responsibilities: - Provide legal counsel and thought leadership on Technology Transactions to Citi businesses and functions - Evaluate business decisions related to Technology Transactions and escalate as necessary - Collaborate with internal teams to achieve efficient outcomes and coordinate with legal peers in associated businesses - Participate in planning and development initiatives and provide thought leadership using industry knowledge - Proactively identify and manage legal, regulatory, and reputational risks - Negotiate and draft a variety of general commercial contracts for North America and Global enterprise use, with a focus on intellectual property agreements - Monitor and escalate complex legal issues as necessary - Assess risks and maintain compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations - Supervise and hold accountable those who fail to meet ethical and legal standards
Qualifications: - 7 years of experience in general commercial transactions, preferably in the financial services industry - Knowledge of banking regulations and experience with complex deals - Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills - Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound judgments - Juris Doctorate or equivalent law degree - Member of Florida bar in good standing or ability to become authorized in-house counsel within 6 months
This is a full-time position with a hybrid work arrangement, requiring 2 days in the Tampa office. Citi offers a competitive salary range of $169,040.00 - $253,560.00, as well as employee benefits such as medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k), life and disability insurance, and paid time off.
