We are seeking a passionate and deeply experienced Senior Staff Writer to join our Culture team. In this role, you will produce engaging original reporting, insightful analysis and thought-provoking criticism on cultural trends, especially as they pertain to our lives lived outside of TV and film. Through in-depth, long-form stories, you will explore how culture shapes our world. Salon’s culture journalism applies a critical lens, challenging the culture we consume by pushing past prevailing narratives, championing the marginalized and offering a side-eye to our everyday existence. We don't just uncover the why, but we also ask, "Why not this instead?" Through strong storytelling, we both entertain and we question. We aren’t afraid to get personal. Salon’s Culture vertical is a place for voice: We produce stories with critical insight, subject matter expertise, and sophisticated flair.
