Law Firm seeking an experienced Senior Counsel with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a law firm or legal practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled and knowledgeable attorney to join our team and take on a lead role in managing complex insurance coverage matters.
Responsibilities:
Serve as lead counsel on moderately complex to complex coverage matters, from inception through all phases of litigation. Represent the firm in federal and state courts, managing all aspects of litigation including motions, trials, status conferences, and other procedural concerns. Draft motions, briefs, pleadings, and other legal documents to defend the firm's legal interests. Propose, prepare, and respond to oral and written discovery. Make decisions on legal positions and handle litigation, providing guidance on potential outcomes, settlements, and awards. Manage caseloads and schedules. Prepare for and attend depositions and trials. Handle administrative tasks such as billing and record keeping. Build and maintain strong client relationships. Mentor and coach less senior attorneys, paralegals, and staff. Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times.
Qualifications:
Accredited Law degree Minimum of 10 years of experience in a law firm or legal practice Experience in general liability, professional liability, construction, complex commercial litigation, insurance defense, or medical malpractice. Strong legal knowledge and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks. Proficiency in MS Office and strong project management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
