Senior Counsel (Safety & Law Enforcement) - Sydney, Australia

Are you a qualified lawyer with experience in technology and digital platform regulations? Are you passionate about ensuring user safety and privacy on a global scale? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment? **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** is seeking a Senior Counsel to join our Legal & Policy Team in Sydney, Australia. As a key member of the Safety & Law Enforcement Legal team, you will provide critical support to our Trust & Safety, Law Enforcement Operations, Product, and Engineering teams in matters relating to community guidelines, content moderation, law enforcement requests, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support the Trust & Safety team in detecting, investigating, and responding to community guidelines violations
- Work with the Law Enforcement Operations team to ensure compliance with relevant laws and protect user privacy
- Collaborate with Legal and Policy teams to support regulatory compliance and inquiries
- Partner with various internal teams to develop policies and tools that meet evolving regulatory and legislative requirements
- Provide guidance and support for cross-functional platform safety initiatives

Key Requirements:

- Australia qualified lawyer with excellent academic credentials
- 8 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on digital platform and content regulations
- Knowledge of data protection and privacy laws is a plus
- Familiarity with government surveillance laws, specifically Australia's Telecommunications (Interception and Access) Act 1979
- Experience in advising technology companies on trust and safety, law enforcement response, and related matters
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment
