Job title: Senior Counsel, U.S. Policy Legal Experience: Minimum 7 years of relevant experience practicing law, preferably in a law firm, the government, a trade association, and/or in house required.
Overview: - AbbVie is a leading pharmaceutical company with a mission to discover and deliver innovative medicines and solutions to address health issues. - The Senior Counsel, U.S. Policy Legal, will be responsible for developing and implementing legal strategies to support access for AbbVie products in the U.S. - This role will focus on external engagements for policy shaping and messaging strategy, as well as cross-functional collaborations with other departments. - The ideal candidate will have a law degree and at least 7 years of relevant experience, with a focus on legislative and/or regulatory policy issues in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry. - This is a full-time position with a salary range of $151,500 - $288,000.
Responsibilities: - Develop in-depth knowledge of AbbVie’s business and stay updated on changes in laws and government policies related to the company's operations. - Provide legal advice to Government Affairs and business clients on federal and state laws, regulations, and policies. - Work with legal department managers to resolve complex legal matters and manage projects. - Collaborate with outside counsel and define project objectives. - Comply with AbbVie policies and procedures. - Work cross-functionally to find solutions for business clients in accordance with the law and company's Code of Conduct.
Qualifications: - Law degree from an ABA accredited law school and in good standing with the state bar required. - Minimum 7 years of relevant experience practicing law. - Preferred experience in legislative and/or regulatory policy issues in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry. - In-house government or trade association experience is a plus.
