Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic and day-to-day legal support for various business functions at AbbVie, including aesthetics and therapeutics. - Monitor and advise on compliance with emerging data privacy laws. - Support global privacy contracts and M&A teams with data privacy legal questions, contract reviews, and negotiations. - Draft, review, negotiate, and manage data privacy and protection terms for various transactional agreements. - Support AbbVie's privacy compliance office with the operation of the global privacy program. - Monitor and advise on the implications of privacy laws on emerging technologies. - Provide legal support for the information security risk management team. - Draft and review privacy notice, consent, and contract templates globally and regionally. - Manage and supervise external privacy counsel work.
Qualifications:
- JD degree and state bar certification. - Minimum 7 years of experience in relevant legal experience in data privacy and security matters. - Strong background in U.S. and EU data privacy requirements. - Experience advising on privacy matters related to health information processing preferred. - Experience with digital related data privacy matters preferred. - Excellent communication and legal research skills. - Experience working with a matrixed corporate environment and supporting senior business leaders. - Experience in data processing and transfer agreements. - Experience working with multinational affiliates across markets. - IAPP Certifications, such as CIPP/US or CIPP/E, a plus.
Salary:
The compensation range for this position is $151,500 - $288,000. The actual salary offered may vary depending on factors such as geographic location and individual qualifications.
