EIS Group, a leading insurance software company, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Counsel to join their legal team. This is a hands-on position that offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the company's global growth and success. The role can be remote and reports directly to the Chief Legal Officer.
As Senior Counsel, you will support the Human Resources function and work closely with business functions across EIS to develop and improve global processes and policies. You will also provide expert advice on employee relations issues worldwide. The ideal candidate is collaborative, flexible, and self-motivated with a strong work ethic and business sense. You will have the opportunity to work directly with executives across the globe and be a key contributor to the growth and development of the Legal Department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the internal employment law expert, providing proactive support to the HR team on global employment law advice and counseling. - Work closely with HR to develop, maintain, and implement employment-related policies and training. - Draft and review employment-related documents for compliance across multiple jurisdictions. - Develop and continuously improve global employment policies and practices. - Coordinate with regional counsel to ensure consistent application of process and standards globally. - Prioritize, respond to, and manage employee relations concerns, investigations, and litigation. - Support global compensation and benefits programs. - Oversee and direct internal investigations. - Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels and functions of the company. - Work cross-functionally with the Privacy, Cyber Security, and Compliance team.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in employment law, preferably in a corporate in-house legal department. - Global experience, preferably in enterprise technology, software product, SaaS, or related industry. - J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school and member in good standing in any state bar. - Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. - Demonstrated startup initiative and ability to manage projects with minimal supervision. - Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills. - Prior experience working with technology companies. - Knowledge of California and global employment law.
Compensation:
The targeted pay range for this position is $170,000 - $200,000 per year. In addition to base pay, you will also receive stock options and a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits. Base pay may vary based on market location.
