Overview:
Encore is seeking a Senior Corporate Counsel to join their team in Schiller Park, Illinois. This full-time, office-based position will provide legal support and services for the company, with a focus on contract review, drafting, and negotiation. The Senior Corporate Counsel will report directly to the General Counsel and work with both internal and external clients.
Key Responsibilities:
• Review and negotiate legal contracts on behalf of the company, ensuring compliance with laws and protecting the company's rights. • Draft necessary contracts and legal documents. • Provide general legal advice and counsel to internal customers. • Ensure company activities do not result in legal claims. • Act as a liaison between the company and its clients, as well as between the legal department and internal customers. • Assist in formulating plans and strategies by providing legal input. • Stay updated on corporate law and legal principles. • Possess strong observation, analytical, and decision-making skills. • Communicate effectively and negotiate contracts with internal and external parties. • Pay close attention to detail when drafting and reviewing legal documents. • Multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Job Qualifications:
• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school. • 5 years of experience in contract drafting and negotiation, preferably in a corporate law department or law firm. • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. • Strong understanding of corporate law and legal principles. • Excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills. • Ability to think ahead and make informed decisions. • Meticulous and precise in drafting and reviewing legal documents. • Proven ability to multitask and influence others.
