Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and support across the lifecycle of Genentech's products, including commercial, medical affairs, market access, and government affairs - Serve as lead legal counsel for product lifecycle and cross-functional product or therapeutic area-focused business teams and initiatives - Advise on business strategies, tactical plan development and implementation, and other business issues - Advise on transactions to support external collaborations and partnerships - Counsel on appropriate relationships with healthcare professionals, clinics and societies, patients and advocacy organizations, and government entities - Develop and implement training on legal compliance and current enforcement trends - Liaise and negotiate with co-promotion partners' legal counsel - Identify opportunities to create value for the business and Legal colleagues - Participate in, lead, and/or present to various Company committees or other advisory, project, or work teams - Provide subject matter expertise and strategic oversight for key products, projects, and/or initiatives
Qualifications:
- 12 years of recent relevant legal experience in product support of biotech/pharma - United States law degree (J.D.) and current admission to at least one U.S. state bar, or eligibility for California's Registered In House Counsel program - Mastery of subject matter expertise and business fluency in relation to enforcement trends, the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, and related regulations - Excellent oral and written communication skills - Team player with strong collaboration skills - Ability to influence without authority and present complex information to senior leaders - Demonstrated enterprise and growth mindset - High emotional intelligence to navigate challenging issues
