Senior C# Developer Tarter Econometrics is an innovative consulting firm based in the Hampton Roads / Richmond areas, with clients throughout the East Coast. Our focus is developing customized applications for financial analytics and portfolio optimization; however, we also have interesting projects in a broad spectrum of other industries. We are an efficient, no-nonsense company -- you will work with smart people, use cool technology, and have real responsibilities that directly affect the business. This position is for a C# Developer who will work directly with the Chief Technology Officer. You will also use VB9 for the front end, and some VBA and SQL. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE Visual Studio 2008 .NET Windows Forms Access / VBA Excel / VBA TortoiseSVN GENERAL REQUIREMENTS Minimum 2 years of programming experience with C# or VB .NET Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences An ingrained respect for good software design and the discipline to implement it Adherence to established standards for code formatting, notation, and commenting HELPFUL SKILLS We encourage cross-domain knowledge and do not put people in boxes. The following skill areas would also be helpful, but are NOT required: Technical writing Numerical methods and linear algebra Graphic design and layout (e.g. for reports) Pixel art (for skins/icons) Vector art and animation The following knowledge areas would also be helpful, but are NOT required: Developer Express for WinForms ("DXperience") SQL Server CE 3.5 (for Win32) Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) General familiarity with finance & investing Linux server administration We are open to a telecommuting arrangement.
