The **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** (NHeLP) is seeking one to two full-time attorneys to join their litigation and enforcement team. NHeLP is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting and advancing the health rights of low-income and underserved individuals. They engage in national, state, and local advocacy efforts and work with a variety of partners to improve health access and equity.
The Senior Attorney(s) will work with the litigation and enforcement team to develop legal strategies to protect and enforce laws related to health access. This includes engaging in litigation, participating in the Amicus Project, and providing consultation and technical assistance to various stakeholders. The ideal candidate(s) will have a JD degree and at least 8 years of legal experience, with a strong commitment to representing low-income populations.

Responsibilities:
- Develop legal strategies to protect and enforce laws related to health access - Engage in litigation, including case development, discovery, and oral argument - Participate in the Amicus Project to prepare briefs on major access and equity issues - Provide consultation and technical assistance to various stakeholders - Work with policy teams and practice areas to develop and expand policies for health access and equity - Collaborate with the communication team to create publications, blog posts, and training sessions
Qualifications:
- JD degree and admission to the bar in any U.S. jurisdiction - At least 8 years of legal experience, primarily in litigation - Knowledge and experience enforcing relevant laws, including the Administrative Procedure Act, the Medicaid and Medicare Acts, and the U.S. Constitution - Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills - Commitment to representing low-income populations and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion
