Flint Cooper Law Firm is seeking an experienced Senior Associate Attorney to join our government takings practice. We are a preeminent litigation firm with a national presence, handling a diverse portfolio of multibillion-dollar cases. Job Title: Senior Associate Attorney (Government Takings) Salary Range: Negotiable, commensurate with qualifications Location: Edwardsville, Illinois or Paducah, Kentucky
Responsibilities: - Evaluate potential claims and provide legal advice to prospective clients. - Represent, negotiate and litigate on behalf of the client to receive justice and compensation for their losses. - Draft, review and modify legal documents, conduct legal research, and gather relevant evidence. - Analyze and interpret maps and instruments of real property conveyance. - Conduct real estate title examinations, when necessary. - Update the status of all case files and manage their support team. - Negotiate settlement agreements, when appropriate.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctor required. - Licensed in any state because cases are filed in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims required. - Eligible for admission to the U.S. Court of Federal Claims required. - Minimum of five (5) years experience in real estate transactions, real property litigation and/or government takings required. - Superb understanding of government takings/real property law, real estate terminology, and federal constitutional law required. - Superb drafting, research, negotiation, and communication skills required. - Willingness to travel required. - Fluency in verbal and/or written Spanish preferred. - Authentic passion for helping people preferred.
