Job Summary: Senior Assistant General Counsel - IP and Technology Transactions position at SoFi. Seeking experienced attorney to join Galileo legal team and handle complex legal issues related to SaaS offerings and technology transactions. Will involve drafting and negotiating agreements, providing IP counseling, managing technology transactions, and ensuring compliance with data privacy and security laws. 7 years of legal experience and J.D. degree required. Key Responsibilities: - Draft and negotiate a variety of agreements related to SaaS, software licenses, technology partnerships, and data processing. - Provide strategic guidance on IP protection and enforcement. - Support the development, commercialization, and licensing of technology and IP assets. - Stay updated on data privacy laws and regulations and ensure compliance in contractual arrangements. - Work closely with cross-functional teams to address legal issues and mitigate risks. - Provide general legal support for SaaS offerings, technology transactions, and business operations. - Stay informed on legal and industry developments relevant to the company.
Qualifications and Experience: - J.D. degree from an accredited law school and admission to at least one state bar. - 7 years of legal experience with a focus on SaaS, technology transactions, and intellectual property. - Strong understanding of software licensing, open source software, cloud computing, and data privacy laws. - Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. - Sound business judgment and strategic thinking skills.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in the technology or SaaS industry, including artificial intelligence. - Familiarity with international data privacy regulations. - CIPP/US or other relevant privacy certifications.
