Organization: District Attorney's Office Department: Conviction Integrity Unit
The **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Senior Assistant District Attorney. This is a full-time position located at the Courthouse and Justice Complex in Kansas City, Kansas. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the District Attorney in litigating intermediate and high-level criminal cases. This includes assignment to the Conviction Integrity Unit and litigating post-conviction claims under K.S.A. 60-1507.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Reviewing police reports and other materials related to criminal investigations - Preparing and filing appropriate motions - Appearance at dockets - Limited appellate practice
Qualifications:
- Seven years of experience in supervisory, criminal, civil, legal practice, or related work - Membership in the Kansas State Bar and license to practice law in Kansas - Knowledge of Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Constitutional and/or Criminal law, court procedures and etiquette, and sentencing guidelines - Good communication and interpersonal skills
Salary:
The salary range for this position is $32.43 - $50.66 per hour.
