The Law Firm of Richmond, Virginia is seeking talented summer associates for our highly selective summer program. We believe that our summer program is our best source for recruiting new associates, and we are committed to offering permanent employment to those who excel in their work and develop good relationships with our firm. We are currently accepting applications from second-year law students and welcome those who are interested in splitting their summer with another firm or organization.
Exposure to Various Practice Areas and Experienced Attorneys
As a summer associate at our firm, you will have the opportunity to work on projects that provide broad exposure to our various practice areas. You will also have the chance to work with as many of our experienced attorneys as possible, giving you valuable insight and experience. In addition to traditional legal research and writing, we encourage our summer associates to attend depositions, trials, hearings, and other activities that may interest them. This hands-on experience sets our summer program apart and allows our associates to gain a deeper understanding of the legal profession.
Mentoring and Constructive Feedback
We believe that personal attention is crucial to the success of our summer associates. That's why each summer associate is assigned a mentor and a reader to assist them throughout the program. Your mentor will be a young associate who you can comfortably discuss any questions or concerns with, while your reader will provide you with constructive feedback on your written work. Additionally, you will receive direct feedback from the assigning lawyer on each project you work on.
Social Events and Culture
We understand the importance of fostering relationships and getting to know our summer associates in a more informal setting. That's why we plan a variety of social events throughout the summer to showcase the recreational and cultural opportunities of the Richmond metropolitan area. Our goal is for our summer associates to not only gain valuable legal experience but also to feel like a part of our firm's community.
How to Apply
We hire our summer associates primarily through on-campus interviews, as well as through direct resume submissions. We will be conducting interviews at the following law schools in the fall: Washington and Lee University School of Law, William & Mary School of Law, University of Richmond School of Law, and University of Virginia School of Law.
