• Provide legal counsel and courtroom advocacy for survivors of domestic violence in a six county service area • Represent survivors in obtaining orders of protection and related domestic issues • Educate clients in self-advocacy and work with advocacy organizations • Prepare for trials and make in-court appearances • Perform administrative duties as needed
Requirements:
• Active Missouri Bar license • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Passion and dedication to providing high-quality legal assistance • Ability to speak a second language (preferred, but not required) • Courtroom experience (preferred)
Salary: $71,000 annually DOE

The Joplin office is staffed by four experienced attorneys and three paralegals, providing a supportive and collaborative work environment.
As a Staff Attorney, the responsibilities include representing survivors of domestic violence in obtaining orders of protection and related domestic issues, such as dissolution of marriages and custody matters. The role also involves providing education in self-advocacy and working with advocacy organizations. The qualified candidate must have an active Missouri Bar license, excellent written and oral communication skills, and a desire to provide high-quality legal assistance. Courtroom experience is preferred, but not required.
