Summary:
KPMG is seeking a Senior Manager to join their State and Local Tax (SALT) practice in Raleigh, NC. The Senior Manager will work with a diverse team to help high-profile clients understand and respond to complex tax issues, while also receiving formal training and informal mentoring for career development. Responsibilities:
- Work as part of a national multi-disciplinary state income tax consulting team - Lead state tax return review engagements and identify refund opportunities - Assist multi-national companies with state and local tax controversies - Review technical memoranda or slide decks on various tax questions - Build and manage client relationships and supervise and mentor team members
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in state income tax consulting - Bachelor's degree and relevant credentials such as CPA, EA, or JD/LLM - Ability to lead teams and develop business relationships - Excellent skills in writing, compliance, communication, management, and tax research - Desire to work in a high-energy team environment
