Job Description
The law firm of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Specialist to join our team in either our Milwaukee or Madison office. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting legal and non-legal research and providing reference services to attorneys, clients, and staff. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in a law firm or professional services environment, a Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred), and knowledge of print and electronic resources commonly used in large law firms.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct legal and non-legal research for attorneys, clients, and staff
- Provide resource training and assistance to attorneys, paralegals, and staff
- Fulfill requests for court documents, case law, and articles
- Create internal current awareness alerts and communications
- Produce Reference and Training Guides
- Monitor litigation alerts and news flow in support of proactive initiatives and best practices
- Perform routine library duties, such as cataloging and processing invoices
- Execute other day-to-day projects as assigned

Requirements:

- 1-3 years of library research experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment
- Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree in Library and Information Studies preferred
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and project management skills
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Knowledge of print and electronic resources and databases commonly used in large law firms

- Professional client service manner, responsiveness, flexibility, and adaptability

Collaboration:

- Team player mentality, with a desire to be a part of a collaborative, high-performing group

- Ability and confidence to identify and analyze issues, make decisions, and initiate actions/solutions
- Ability to respond to unexpected challenges, including proactively developing innovative solutions to complex problems while maintaining a professional demeanor

Professionalism:

- Ability to maintain composure and demonstrate good judgment
