Law Firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Research Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, conducting legal and non-legal research for our attorneys and staff. Your contributions will play a crucial role in supporting our firm's success and providing our clients with the best possible legal representation.
Responsibilities: - Conduct thorough and timely legal and non-legal research using electronic and print resources - Cite-check briefs and other documents to ensure accuracy and credibility - Monitor court dockets, legislation, legal and business news to stay informed and up-to-date - Assist in compiling legislative histories, conducting jury research, and other special projects - Provide training and support to attorneys, paralegals, and staff on research databases - Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects effectively - Perform routine library duties, such as cataloging and filing - Process invoices and communicate with vendors to resolve any issues - Willingness to travel to other office locations in Wisconsin as needed - Maintain regular and reliable attendance during assigned working hours
Qualifications: - 1-3 years of experience in a similar research role, preferably in a law firm setting - Master's Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment - Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with all levels of the organization - Working knowledge of legal research databases and platforms - Familiarity with library software, preferably EOS - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
