This is a 12-month per year position with rank commensurate with education and experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Click Enter to preview the description of Essential FunctionsPreviewThe primary responsibilities of this position are on-campus teaching and service to the Department of Rehabilitation, Exercise & Nutrition Sciences (RENS) and College of Allied Health Sciences. Teaching and service responsibilities include, but are not limited to, facilitating/assisting in occupational therapy courses working with the course director; primary instruction of didactic courses; participation in student recruitment, retention, and admissions activities; participation in program committee work including program evaluation, accreditation tasks, and other activities as assigned by Department Chair. While student instruction is central to this position, service and scholarship activities are also required consistent with faculty evaluative criteria and the missions of the University, College, and Department. We are hoping to have someone start in this position in January 2022.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS *Terminal doctoral degree
*ABD candidates are welcome to apply, but the doctorate must be completed prior to the start date.
*An equivalent of more than 4 years of relevant full-time work-related experience *Licensed or eligible for licensure as an occupational therapist in the state of Ohio *Current knowledge and skill in the use of computer technology and educational learning management systems *Evidence of strong organizational skills; strong interpersonal skills including communication, problem solving, counseling, conflict management, and follow-through *Ability to work independently *Interest and ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team *Ability to assist with a variety of tasks as assigned by Department Chair or Program Director *Demonstrated commitment to cultural diversity, equity, and inclusion ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS CONSIDERED *A minimum of one year of full-time college level teaching or equivalent collection of part-time experience *Diverse clinical experiences including both adult and pediatric settings and orthopedic conditions. *Demonstrated student mentorship experience PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT *Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
