Regulatory and Government Affairs Project Assistant: Salary Range $57,680.00 - $72,100.00
WilmerHale, a leading international law firm with 1,000 lawyers located throughout 12 offices in the US, Europe, and Asia, is seeking a Regulatory and Government Affairs Project Assistant to join their team. This role will primarily focus on regulatory regimes and investigations, particularly in the Trade space and with respect to China.
The ideal candidate will have experience with regulatory investigations, be proficient in Mandarin Chinese, and have a strong understanding of case management best practices. This individual will work closely with attorneys and other professionals to assist with all phases of regulatory investigations and filings, as well as manage day-to-day operations of the China group.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Matter Management/Business Acumen: Takes initiative, plans and prepares for projects, sets objectives and timelines, and uses keen judgment to manage change. Actively participates in discussions and problem-solving, and proactively manages deadlines. - Case/Document Management Systems: Establishes and maintains case management systems for intake and management of all matter-related materials. Demonstrates proficiency using document management systems and supporting technology. - Discovery/eDiscovery/Fact Management: Partners with WHDS/Litigation Support/Staff and Discovery Attorneys to design, implement, and manage discovery processes. Demonstrates proficiency with discovery technology and adheres to WHDS/Litigation Support Best Practices. - Leadership/Staff Development: Sets expectations, communicates effectively, and manages deadlines. Shares team successes and develops positive relationships with other firm departments. - Training and Development: Participates in professional development programs and stays up-to-date with industry trends. - Client Service: Demonstrates effective client service by making clients and their needs a primary focus. Develops and sustains positive relationships and displays professionalism. - Timekeeping: Consistently meets the Firm's billable hour expectations and adheres to best practices for time entry.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in Mandarin Chinese. - Ability to fulfill duties and responsibilities related to regulatory investigations. - Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. - Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. - Attention to detail and strong analytical skills. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, eDiscovery platforms, and document management systems. - Willingness to travel and work overtime.
Education and Experience:
- BA/BS preferred. - One year of related experience, including general regulatory investigations.
