Summary: - Allen Matkins, a premier California law firm, is seeking a Real Estate Paralegal with at least 5 years of experience in commercial real estate and/or commercial real estate lending. - This full-time position is located in the Century City office. - The successful candidate must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. - A Bachelor's degree is preferred and the candidate must satisfy at least one of the California statutory paralegal classification requirements. - The anticipated salary range for this role is $125,000 - $150,000 per year, with additional benefits including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, flexible spending accounts, and a 401(k) retirement plan.
Key Responsibilities: - Review title exception documents and identify issues, prepare title review summaries and objection letters, and negotiate pro forma title insurance policies. - Review surveys, request and coordinate revisions, and order and review zoning reports. - Coordinate preparation of settlement statements with title companies and clients. - Review and file organizational documents with secretaries of state, and coordinate with search companies for independent directors and agents for service of process. - Review loan and purchase and sale documents, obtain missing information, and complete documents for closing. - Prepare signature page documents, coordinate signing parties, and assemble closing documents. - File UCC1 financing statements and follow up with title companies for recorded documents and policies. - Update closing checklists and participate in checklist calls. - Download loan documents and other due diligence from client websites.
Qualifications: - Must have at least 5 years of paralegal experience, with a focus on commercial real estate and/or commercial real estate lending. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows applications. - Bachelor's degree preferred. - Must be able to maintain confidentiality, multi-task, and prioritize with minimum supervision. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
