Job Description
Moffitt Cancer Center is seeking a Research Compliance Assistant General Counsel I-Clinical Trials to join our team in Tampa, FL. This is a full-time position with day shift hours from Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm. The ideal candidate will have a passion for contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer and have at least 6 years of experience practicing law.

Position Highlights:
* Provide legal advice and counsel on bio-medical focused research, intellectual property, grants, ethics, and regulatory compliance. * Draft, negotiate, and finalize contracts and agreements for various departments. * Support contract management efforts of the Vice President/Deputy General Counsel and Executive Vice President/General Counsel. * Stay current on new laws and policy developments affecting Moffitt's operations. * Supervise and manage legal work of paralegals, attorneys, and outside counsel.
Responsibilities:
* Identify and analyze legal issues, draft key documents, and present clear recommendations to ensure legal compliance. * Initiate routine meetings with departmental leaders to negotiate contracts and ensure regulatory compliance. * Research and complete special projects assigned by VP/Deputy General Counsel and EVP/General Counsel.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Licensed to practice law with at least 6 years of experience. * Strong working knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirements in human subject research. * Experience in drafting and negotiating clinical trial agreements. * Preference for experience in complex transactions with healthcare and biotechnology industry partners. * Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and life science or medical research experience preferred. * Experience in supervising and managing paralegals and support staff.
