Job Description
The Specialist, Project Controls position will be responsible for supporting the Integrity Pipeline Repair project team for all Regions across Client Midstream organization. The Specialist will act as the owner’s representative managing project cost and contract compliance through monitoring, analyzing, forecasting, reporting, and advising on accuracy and trends. This position will report to the Project Controls Manager, PMO.
Responsibilities May Include
Advising Project Leads and Project Controls Manager on accuracy of project reporting and contract non-conformance
Advising project team on cost control and contract compliance
Analyzing project data beyond cost control and expanding into Portfolio management of Integrity related projects
Managing a portfolio totaling approximately $100MM in value and provide analytics to make the best business decision
Experience with data analytics dashboard such as “Tableau” to create portfolio trends
Tracking progress and reports against actual cost
Preparing any special progress reports, cost reports, and forecasts for team activities
Reviewing project cost estimates and schedules and coordinating routine progress reporting
Reviewing project cost estimates and project budget tracking for compliance
Providing Project Manager with independent assessments and analyses
Assist Project Leads with preparing and updating monthly project cost reports
Functioning as SAP subject matter expert for the projects team
Directing Project Leads of company requirements for planning, cost control, and reporting
Assisting in development of schedules to forecast outcomes
Reviewing and accessing accuracy of Project Lead’s cost reporting, reporting procedures, cost estimates, and forecasting
Periodically auditing Project Leads’ s progress reporting and forecasting
Advising Project Leads to input to budgets and schedules
Reviewing and approving contractor cost control plans and procedures for compliance and conformance
Facilitate the submission and routing of project funding requests for approval
Qualifications Required
Basic/Required:
Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
Bachelor’s (or) Associates degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance or Accounting
5 or more years of relevant experience with project controls (cost & schedule) and analytics
3 or more years of experience in SAP
Working knowledge of budget development within a WBS
Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Willing and able to travel at least 20% of the time
Preferred:
5 or more years of relevant experience with project controls (cost & schedule) and analytics
5 or more years of experience on Engineering/Procurement/Construction project phases
Intermediate level of proficiency in SAP PS & PM and Business Warehouse for projects tracking and reporting
Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse group of professionals/stakeholders
Project Management Institute trainings and/or certification such as Project/Program/Portfolio Management Professional
