JOB OVERVIEW
Teamwork. Innovation. Excellence. Integrity. Fun. The team at Campus Recreation provides facilities, programming, and recreational activities to inspire UC and the surrounding community to reach and maintain their fitness and wellness goals.

The Program Manager has primary oversight for the development and management of all aquatics programming, student staff hiring, training and development, facility rentals, birthday parties, swim lessons, and program marketing and social media. Secondary oversight includes planning and facilitating aquatic staff training, preparing rental contracts and teaching safety training courses such as CPR/FA, LG and LGI. The Program Manager will teach safety training courses and may serve as a lifeguard and/or teach swim lessons on an intermittent basis as needed. Vital components of this position are a demonstrated ability to work autonomously with initiative, critical and creative thinking, as well as a strong commitment to student development, collaboration, and customer service. Additionally, this position has significant financial, administrative and personnel responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
*Manage, design, develop, modify and present programs.  Perform program needs assessment and make recommendations. *Implement policies and procedures.  *Maintain budget, prepare contracts, approve and monitor expenditures, prepare budget requests and financial reports.  *Act as liaison to internal departments, external entities and community organizations. *May prepare and edit reports and/or newsletters and develop publication materials. *May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
REQUIRED EDUCATION
*Bachelor's Degree. *Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
*Three (3) years of experience in aquatics programming/operations/management or related area. *One (1) year of staff supervision. *Current certification in the following: American Red Cross (ARC) CPR/AED/FA Professional Rescuer, ARC Lifeguard Instructor or other comparable nationally recognized certification. *Previous experience hiring, training, developing, and evaluating lifeguards and other aquatics staff.
TRAINING/CERTIFICATIONS
*American Red Cross Lifeguard. *American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor. *American Red Cross AED/CPR/First Aid Professional Rescuer. *Campus Recreation recognizes that other aquatic based national certifications are available with comparable skills (ie, YMCA, Ellis). *Must hold all certifications by the American Red Cross within six (6) months of employment.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS CONSIDERED
*Previous experience managing and facilitating facility rentals, aquatic related programming and scheduling multiple bodies of water. *Proven experience to student/staff development and customer service. *Strong communication, organization, management, leadership, and professional skills. *Demonstrated ability to identify problems, assess alternatives, render consistent and logical decisions.
