JOB OVERVIEW As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the UC College of Medicine has a reputation for training best-in-class health care professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improves the health and clinical care of patients.
The College of Medicine, Office of Student Affairs, is recruiting a Program Director. This position will provide administrative support to the Associate Dean for Student Affairs; the Career Development Director, inclusive of all career development activities, and to the Honor Council Co-chairs. They will serve as the office manager for the Office of Student Affairs overseeing logistics, supplies and processes pertaining to this office. The Program Director collects and organizes student reports about the learning environment and requests for religious accommodations to be processed according to existing policies. They collaborate with University Health Services to monitor annual student compliance with immunizations required by the participating health systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS *Assume management responsibility for a wide range of projects/tasks associated of which decisions and quality of execution have significant impact and influence on the program. *Develop, manage and modify activities within the program. *Research, design and implement high quality programs as determined by the college. *Create long- and short-term action plans that advance the college's priorities around the specific programs. *Collaborate with faculty members and leadership, as well as community members. *Represent administration at committee meetings on subjects of considerable complexity, with substantial authority to make commitments. *Coordinate communications with appropriate internal and external entities. *May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.). *Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time. REQUIRED EDUCATION *Bachelor's Degree *Nine (9) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE Five (5) years related experience.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS CONSIDERED *Demonstrates evidence of strong knowledge and experience with MS Office, student information systems, databases and other online software. *Prior experience working in an institution of higher learning. *Excellent oral and written communication skills including demonstrated strong interpersonal skills with peers, colleagues, students and administration. *Displays demonstrable experience in being able to work independently and collaboratively with others. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT *Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
