NORTHERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF LAW seeks applications for three anticipated full-time tenure-track entry-level faculty positions beginning in the 2017-2018 academic year. A broad range of scholarly and teaching interests will be considered, but we have a particular interest in scholars whose research and teaching interests include criminal law, corporate and commercial law, family law (including estates planning and juvenile law), environmental law (and related fields including energy and natural resources), or health law (particularly public health). We also have an interest in engaged scholars whose research interests are interdisciplinary and those whose pedagogical approach to any of these disciplines includes experiential methods. The College of Law is the only public law school in the Chicago area (about 60 miles west of downtown). It draws on the strength of a major state university, with an enrollment over 20,000, which supports interdisciplinary research. The law school community is engaged and collegial, and we value the diversity of our faculty and student body as well as the commitment of many of our graduates to public service. A J.D. degree or its equivalent is required.
