The Designer Brands IT team is a fast-paced team that thrives on challenges where we put the customer first and build solutions to support that sentiment.  The IT Digital Team is growing and knows no bounds as we have moved to a fully remote team and encourage growth through our network.  This team and position are looking to be filled with the best talent out there and excited about this continued evolution of the team.

As the PRINCIPAL WEB APPLICATIONS DEVELOPER, you will actively participate on a scrum team responsible for building Angular based solutions for our digital products that includes dsw.com, dsw.ca, theshoecompany.ca, and vincecamuto.com.  You will also be involved with architectural direction related to those web platforms and guiding web developers to adhere to those decisions. You will build solutions that will make a tangible difference in how our customers interact with our websites.  You are encouraged to be curious, collaborate and to turn ideas into solutions that will transform our customer experience.  Important traits of this position involve building strong relationships with your team, influencing without authority, taking pride in your work, and learning quickly from failures. We are open to remote candidates based in the continental United States for this opportunity.

REPORTS TO:  Sr. Manager, Digital Applications Development

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Design, build and technical delivery of user experiences in responsive web projects. *Participate in design discussions related to team members work. *Own and enforce design patterns and coding standards. *Participate in code reviews. *Mentor a team of developers. *Follow trends in the space, be curious about new ways of performing existing tasks.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

*Seasoned web developer utilizing the most current versions of ANGULAR to build responsive sites *Expert in CSS/HTML *Have worked in medium sized teams to develop ITERATIVE solutions *Can guide web developers to deliver BEST IN CLASS solutions *Experience with CI/CD frameworks

QUALIFICATIONS:

EXPERIENCE:

*5 years of experience in Angular, CSS and HTML. *3 years of experience in a lead/principal role. *Proven experience working with and influencing multiple team members.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

*Experience in Retail highly preferred

EDUCATION:

*Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other relevant technical field or equivalent work experience
