Law Firm Seeking Practice Assistant for IP (Hybrid) Role in Washington, D.C. and Nashville

The law firm is seeking a Practice Assistant to provide administrative support to a group of lawyers and professionals. This is a hybrid role with designated days required to be in the office, which may change in the future. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe, experience with document management systems, and proficiency in legal administrative assistant functions. A Bachelor's degree is preferred, along with 4-5 years of experience supporting lawyers and paralegals. The base salary range for this position in the Washington D.C. and Nashville locations is $37.50/hr - $56.30/hr, with additional bonus opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:

- Communicate professionally with clients, lawyers, and co-workers via email, phone, and in person
- Create, draft, format, and manage legal documents and correspondence
- Schedule domestic and foreign travel through firm's travel system
- Process reimbursements, invoices, and check requests
- Complete conflict checks, open new client matters, and draft engagement letters
- Learn client-specific billing guidelines and ensure compliance on client invoices
- Manage mail and coordinate services from other administrative departments
- Enter and manage work requests from lawyers in firm's workflow tool
- Perform routine filing and file maintenance
- Assist with time entry, billing, and collections as needed
- Operate independently to complete assignments accurately and timely
- Perform clerical duties for non-legal departments as needed
- Special projects and duties as assigned

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe
- Experience with document management systems and electronic signature software
- Proficiency in legal administrative functions and strong technical and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
- Attention to detail, grammar, and punctuation
- Ability to take direction and work independently
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 4-5 years of experience supporting lawyers and paralegals

Salary Information:

The base salary range for this position in the Washington D.C. and Nashville locations is $37.50/hr - $56.30/hr, with additional bonus opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package.
