ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Postdoctoral positions are available to pursue basic and translational cancer research in Dr. Jun-Lin Guan's laboratory at University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Research in Dr. Guan's laboratory aims to understand the fundamental principles of cell signaling in the regulation of basic cellular functions in normal cell and developmental processes and to determine how the disruption of normal signaling pathways lead to diseases such as cancer. Current studies include the analysis of autophagy and non-canonical functions of multiple autophagy genes in breast cancer and neural stem cells, and mTORC1 signaling in vascular and other tumors and its cross-talk with autophagy. We use a variety of genetically engineered mouse models combined with molecular, cellular and functional genomic approaches as well as CRISPR-based genetic screen, single cell transcriptomics, PROTACs, organoids and optogenetics to gain mechanistic insights of complex signaling networks in vivo.
