Interacts with members on an individual basis. Serves as a role model for personal trainers and to the staff members in regards to safety, enthusiasm, and member services. Work may be conducted in all group exercise areas, aquatic areas and fitness areas of the club.Tools used may include group exercise equipment, aquatics equipments and fitness equipment located at each facility. Will communicate between staff members, RAC/BAC/ZOOM members, other Carilion employees and with the general public. Uses proper techniques relate to exercise. Project a friendly and positive attitude and conduct oneself in a professional manner.
High school education required. Bachelor's degree in exercise science, sports medicine or related field is preferred.
Fitness experience in a club setting is preferred.
AHA BLS-HCP certification required or obtained within 90-days of hire. Personal Training certification from a nationally recognized organization such as ACE, AFAA, ACSM, ASCA, or Cooper Institute is required.
Excellent organizational and oral and written communication skills. The ability to work one-on-one without direct supervision on a regular basis is required. Individual will be required to demonstrate abilities to the personal training supervisor prior to beginning work.OUR VALUES
