We are looking for a Personal Injury Trial Attorney to join our CR Legal Team in Charlotte, NC. As a Trial Attorney, you will handle complex Personal Injury cases and develop strategies for successful outcomes. You will work collaboratively with our team to provide exceptional client service and advocate for justice for all people.
This is a full-time position with a pay rate of $200,000 and a robust bonus program. Responsibilities:
-Handle and develop strategy for complex Personal Injury cases -Work collaboratively in a team environment -Connect with clients in a compassionate manner to better understand their story -Highly self-motivated with keen attention to detail -Experienced in all case-related settings, including mediations, arbitrations, depositions, hearings, trials, and client interactions -Confident and poised in the courtroom with the ability to connect with the jury and persuasively present arguments -Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for clients -Examine legal and medical data to determine insurance coverage, liability, damages, and overall strategy -Conduct research, guide clients, and handle details in preparation for case-related events -Develop settlement brochures, strategies, and arguments in preparation for presentation of case -Ensure legal compliance with respect to disbursements and settlement funds -Effectively utilize available technology to successfully perform duties -Establish and build relationships with other professionals in the communities we serve -Travel as required
Qualifications:
-JD degree from an accredited college or university -NC State Bar membership required (additional State Bar memberships a plus) -10 years of civil litigation experience and a minimum of 10 cases tried to verdict in North Carolina Superior Court (or equivalent in other jurisdictions) and/or United States District Court preferred -Experience as Lead Attorney in successfully litigating complex personal injury cases to verdict in state and federal court, including trucking and/or catastrophic injury cases preferred -Affiliation with or membership in specific trade groups with a focus on acquiring specialized knowledge and training on catastrophic injury cases (e.g. - Defense Research Institute (DRI), National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys, NC Trucking Association, Trucking Industry Defense Association, Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys) preferred -Extensive independent judgment and decision-making skills -Ability to instruct, direct, mentor, and evaluate team members -Strong communication skills and ability to use judgment, tact, and discretion -Quickly assimilate oral and written data, analyze facts, and draw logical conclusions -Maintain collaborative client/team member relations
