Law Firm seeking Personal Injury Paralegal in Union, New Jersey
Responsibilities:
Provide administrative support to the lawyer to enhance law office effectiveness Communicate with clients, law offices, insurance adjusters, medical offices, and experts Manage Prelitigation and Litigation matters from start to finish Open and close files, including medical records and police reports Interact and contact existing clients daily Manage a caseload of up to 80 cases Respond to incoming calls and voicemails daily Assist in preparing for depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials Prepare and file complaints, motions, briefs, and arbitration statements Review discovery provided and summarize deposition testimony Assist attorney with depositions calendaring and maintain court dates Compose emails and correspondence Monitor deadlines and maintain law office calendar Prepare disbursement of settlement funds and request checks from accounting department Meet and greet walk-in clients and conduct intakes as needed Answer inquiries from potential new clients (Intake coordination) Conduct research as needed Maintain case status notes in case management system
Requirements:
High School Diploma, Paralegal Certificate or equivalent At least 5 years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in personal injury law Familiarity with New Jersey e-courts and court rules and procedures Proficient in M.S. Office and Outlook Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written) Excellent administrative and organizational skills Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure Willingness to work in a fast-paced office setting
