Key Responsibilities: - Develop and curate Apple's health and wellness patent portfolio - Identify patentable inventions and secure high-quality patent assets - Provide expert technical and legal analysis - Handle patent challenges and provide guidance for licensing and transactions - Manage work performed by outside law firms - Collaborate with engineering and other business organizations to understand priorities and challenges - Provide cross-functional support for acquisition due diligence, IP licensing and transactions, enforcement, and litigation activities
Requirements: - Registered Patent Attorney or Patent Agent - USPTO Registration and BS degree in a technical field required - 5 years of experience drafting and prosecuting patent assets, managing portfolios, developing patent strategies, conducting patent analysis, and supporting licensing, transactions, and litigation efforts - Experience with health and wellness technologies and/or medical devices - Excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications: - JD and at least one state bar admission - 5 years of experience at a top law firm and/or in-house legal department - Familiarity with FDA and international regulatory processes - Experience with electronic hardware, software, and AIML technologies - Familiarity with post issuance challenge proceedings
