Work type: Part Time Hourly Location: Evansville, IN Categories: Facilities/Maintenance, Other General Description of Position: Provide support for all science labs (Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Physical Science, Physics and any additional life/physical science classes). Approximately 45 science labs a semester are scheduled. Major Responsibilities: Prepare labs as needed such as setting out equipment, models, and all necessary supplies. Prepare materials as needed for labs. Prepare solutions of different molarity and concentrations. Breakdown labs and perform necessary cleanup of materials including washing of glassware and disposal of chemicals. Work with science instructors to maintain levels of supplies and up-to-date inventory of supplies. Maintain MSDS data sheets and follow. OSHA guidelines for chemical storage. Properly dispose of biohazardous waste. Track usage of lab consumables. Unpack and check-in orders. Clean lab equipment and models. Assist lab manager or program chair with ordering. Make copies as needed. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma or GED. Must be able to think critically, communicate, and work autonomously. Must have a safe environment mindset. Must be familiar with science labs. Preferred Qualifications: Associate’s Degree in Science or higher preferred.
