Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and summarize findings - Update and maintain internal databases - Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices - Assist attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests - Gather relevant information from various sources - Communicate with trial team and external parties - Prepare materials for expert review and assist with voir dire, jury selection, and witness preparation - Subpoena records and prepare medical chronologies and Howell analysis - Summarize written discovery and document productions - Conduct background checks, social media investigations, and litigation history
Qualifications
- 3 years of recent experience in civil litigation, with a focus on employment and/or wage and hour class action/PAGA cases - Proficiency in Word, Outlook, and One Drive - Strong web navigation skills - Ability to work with multiple databases and organize data effectively - Quick thinking and decision-making skills - Active listening and strong communication skills - Professional and polite demeanor when interacting with various individuals - Willingness to go above and beyond to ensure tasks are completed accurately and efficiently - Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle a high caseload - Trial preparation and support experience required - Knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documents, court rules and procedures, and legal practices - ABA approved paralegal certificate or other relevant certification
Note:
- Prior experience with insurance defense billing required - Minimum annual billable requirement of 1500
Compensation
- Competitive salary range of $70,000 - $95,000 (DOE) - Hybrid schedule available - 100% employer paid benefits - 15 days of PTO (to start!) - 11 paid holidays - In-office amenities - Amazing office culture and environment
