The Willis Law Group, a reputable law firm, is currently seeking an experienced Civil Ligation Insurance Defense Paralegal to join our team. This is a full-time position with a minimum of 3 years of experience required. The ideal candidate will have trial experience, be detail-oriented, and able to handle a high-volume docket while maintaining daily billable timekeeping.
Paralegal Responsibilities:
- Drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery - Preparing for depositions, mediations, and trial - Communicating with clients, claim specialists, and expert witnesses - Ordering medical records and preparing medical chronologies - Conducting research, investigating facts, and developing legal arguments - Case management and file organization - Summarizing witness testimony - Daily billable timekeeping - Supporting up to 3 attorneys - E-filing
Paralegal Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED or higher education - ABA approved certification is a plus - Insurance Defense experience - Strong knowledge of MS Word - Intermediate knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint - Accuracy and attention to detail - Multitasking capabilities - Verbal and written communication skills - Organizational and time management skills - High level of discretion and confidentiality required - Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and work well with team members - Knowledge of Caret Legal software is a huge plus
