Overview:
The **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** (BPHC) is seeking a Paralegal to join their Labor and Employment Department. This individual will provide support to the Chief Labor and Employment Counsel and will be responsible for a variety of administrative, legal, and employee relations duties. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong organizational skills, and have excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily activities of the department and manage office data, tracking, and reporting - Manage department budget and assist with special projects as assigned - Assist with labor and employment litigation, including conducting legal research and drafting legal documents - Support internal investigations of employee complaints and serve as a liaison with various stakeholders - Provide support in employee relations and personnel matters - Participate in administrative hearings and assist with collective bargaining preparation - Draft confidential letters, reports, and memos - Conduct research and assist with policy and proposal development - Participate in professional development and continuing education opportunities
Qualifications:
- BA/BS with at least two years of relevant experience OR high school diploma with at least three years of paralegal or equivalent experience - Excellent computer skills, including experience with MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint, and with internet research and Westlaw - Must possess and maintain a Massachusetts Driver's License - Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - Ability to maintain confidentiality - Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team
