Work type: Part Time Hourly Location: Indianapolis, IN, Indianapolis - Lawrence, IN Categories: Facilities/Maintenance General Description of Position: Perform efficiently and effectively within the Facilities department with the Grounds team. • Check lawns, trims weeds, and rakes leaves as assigned. • Picks up and removes trash prior to mowing a designated area. • Empties trash and recycling containers. • Trims bushes, shrubs, and hedges. • Prepares soil and plants flowers, bushes, hedges, or shrubs. • Plants trees and prunes them when necessary. • Cuts and removes trees as needed. • Applies fertilizer, pesticides, and herbicides as directed. • Performs routine maintenance on power equipment. • Performs other related duties as assigned. • Maintains C4 garden. Major Responsibilities: Specific Responsibilities: Monitor equipment and storage areas for cleanliness, safety, and functionality, reporting equipment failures promptly. Assist in receiving deliveries and organizing products and supplies Coordinate supply delivery with facilities when requisitioned products in a timely, safe, and efficient manner. Report shortages of requisitioned products to the supervisor. Clean, organize, and maintain ground areas in the Indianapolis campus buildings. Employee must wear the Ivy Tech polo uniform. Ability to operate various types of power equipment, including lawnmowers, trimmers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, and other landscaping equipment. Ability to use hand tools required for landscaping. Ability to follow instructions and complete assignments. Excellent time management skills. This is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required. A basic level of computer proficiency (primarily Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and keyboarding) Some college experiences Experience in a customer service environment Current or former Ivy Tech students would be preferred but not required.
