Job Title: Legal Intern for Youth and Children (LCYC) - SIJS Team
Salary: $26.11/hour ($24.67/hour $1.44/hour for Spanish language skills)
Experience: 2nd or 3rd year law student, fluent in English and Spanish, past experience in immigration law and/or SIJS preferred
Location: Virtual, within the state of Washington

- Legal intern position for 2nd or 3rd year law students - Work remotely from anywhere within the state of Washington - Must have internet access and laptop - Support SIJS Team at LCYC in filing state court actions - Fluent in English and Spanish required - Directly impact the lives of young people through your work - Commitment to inclusivity, equity, and representation - Diverse candidates strongly encouraged to apply - Intern duties include drafting pleadings, translating documents, conducting intake calls, and more - Opportunity to observe and assist in relevant legal hearings - Participate in trainings on anti-racism, SIJS, child welfare, and more - Regularly engage with LCYC staff and participate in equity and systemic racism discussions - LCYC's mission is to protect the interests and safety of young people through legal representation, community partnerships, and systemic advocacy - Empower youth by helping them understand and engage in complex legal systems - LCYC is a team of supportive, creative, and flexible attorneys dedicated to disrupting the status quo - Qualifications include enrollment in 2nd or 3rd year of law school, fluency in English and Spanish, commitment to social justice, and ability to work with diverse youth and families - Compensation rate of $26.11/hour with Spanish language skills bonus - To apply, submit a letter of interest, resume, writing sample, and references to Supervising Attorney Sandy Garcia - Early submission recommended, first interviews scheduled for week of June 24.
