JOB OVERVIEW **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***, College-Conservatory of Music, a comprehensive college for the performing and media arts situated in a vibrant urban community, seeks an innovative scholar-educator for a tenure-track open-rank faculty appointment in music education to begin August 15, 2022. The faculty member will be part of a team that prepares music teachers and researchers for success and leadership in the 21st century. Rank and salary will be commensurate with credentials. Initial appointment is three years and faculty member is then eligible for reappointment. CCM's Division of Music Education offers BM, MM, and MME degree programs that integrate the high-quality music training and experiences available in a conservatory environment with a strong emphasis on pedagogical preparation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS *Lead the creation and implementation of a new PhD in music education program *Provide service to the College-Conservatory of Music, the University, and the music education profession through recruiting efforts, committee work, and leadership roles in professional organizations *Engage in professional activities at the regional, national, and international levels such as trainings and conferences, and maintain a scholarly profile through presentations and publications *Maintain and develop relationships with colleagues at the University of Cincinnati and public-school music teachers in the region and beyond *Teach courses in graduate research in music education, graduate colloquium, and topics related to the faculty's areas of interest and expertise for both undergraduate and graduate students in the in-residence and summer programs *Other responsibilities will include supervision of graduate research, organization of internships/fieldwork placements, mentorship of graduate teaching assistants, and academic advising. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Prior to effective date of appointment:
*A Doctorate in Music Education *Three academic years of teaching experience in K-12 schools *A documented record of scholarly activity as evidenced by a minimum of three peer-reviewed publications *An additional three academic years of experience. Such experience must encompass three academic years of teaching experience at the collegiate level with both undergraduate and graduate students as well as two academic years of experience supervising graduate student research which can, but need not, be contemporaneous to the collegiate teaching experience.
